On July 8, 2024, 20-year-old Dennis Cooperwood Jr. was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Circle K gas station located at 5215 Lucas and Hunt Road in Norwood Court, St. Louis County. Officers from the St. Louis County Police Department's Central County Precinct responded to the scene around 3:15 p.m., finding Cooperwood with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
