On the evening of August 1, 2024, in the small community of Robertsville, Missouri, a violent altercation ended the life of 18-year-old Andrew Townley, a White/Caucasian male. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office reported that the fatal incident occurred around 8:57 p.m. near the 500 block of Hill Drive. According to law enforcement, a man claims he was attacked by two individuals.
In the midst of this struggle, the man reportedly drew a firearm from his pocket and discharged it, striking Townley.
After the shooting, the man who fired the weapon left the scene on foot and went to a nearby home to seek help. The resident of that home then contacted emergency services, reporting that a man covered in blood was on their porch. When deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene of the shooting, they found Andrew Townley grievously wounded. Despite their efforts to perform CPR, he was pronounced dead at the location.
Born on July 16, 2006, in Houston, Missouri, Andrew was remembered by loved ones as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and cherished time spent with his family and friends. A visitation was held for him on August 9, 2024, followed by a graveside service.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has been investigating the shooting. As of the most recent available information, no arrests have been made in connection with Andrew Townley's death.
