In the early morning hours of March 9, 2014, a tragic home invasion in southeast Atlanta claimed the lives of 24-year-old Alina Schiavo, a Caucasian female, and 23-year-old Johnnie Jackson. The violent incident unfolded shortly before 3:30 a.m. at an apartment on Conley Road where the two resided.
Responding to a call, officers discovered a grim scene. Jackson was found deceased inside the apartment from a gunshot wound.
Schiavo, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was found outside the apartment. Paramedics transported her to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Investigators believe the home invasion was not a random act.
In the wake of the double homicide, law enforcement officials began an intensive investigation.
