On October 26, 2023, 44-year-old Charlena Burnett was fatally shot in her Egg Harbor Township residence. Authorities responded to a 9-1-1 call around 7:30 p.m. at the home on Zion Road, where they discovered Burnett with multiple gunshot wounds. Her boyfriend, 51-year-old Kevin Dorsey, was present at the scene and reportedly confessed to the shooting upon police arrival.
