On January 19, 2023, 18-year-old Stanford Sharpe from Chesapeake, Virginia, was found dead in the back seat of a vehicle. The incident began when a caller reported hearing "a loud pop and someone being drug out of a house" by multiple men in the 200 block of Candlelight Avenue. A neighbor on Candlelight Drive heard a gunshot and witnessed a man being carried by two others into the back of a car.
