On January 19, 2023, 49-year-old Kevin Dean Hartless of Amherst County, Virginia, was found deceased in a remote area of the George Washington National Forest. Authorities discovered his body following a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the Alhambra Road vicinity. An extensive search led to the grim finding of Hartless's body.
