On February 22, 2023, Timothy McCree Johnson, a 37-year-old man from Washington D.C., was fatally shot by Fairfax County police officers outside Tysons Corner Center in Vienna, Virginia. The incident began around 6:30 p.m. when Johnson was suspected of shoplifting a pair of designer sunglasses from the Nordstrom department store.
