The harrowing ordeal began in Ithaca, New York, when she was abducted from her home, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend and the father of her four-year-old child, Michael C. Davis. This act set in motion a multi-state chase that would ultimately conclude in a fatal confrontation near Quantico, Virginia.
The day unfolded with an alert from the New York State Police about an endangered adult, identifying David as the victim and Davis as her suspected abductor. Law enforcement tracked a white Jeep Cherokee, believed to be driven by Davis, heading south. Later that evening, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a Virginia State Police trooper spotted the vehicle on Interstate 95 in Fairfax County, noting it had improper license plates. The trooper initiated a traffic stop, but after a brief interaction, Davis sped away, leading police on a high-speed pursuit down the interstate.
