On July 29, 2023, 19-year-old Sa-Juan Kentrel Nicholson, a former resident of Blackstone, Virginia, was found deceased from a gunshot wound in the 13000 block of Oral Oaks Road, situated between the towns of Kenbridge and Victoria in Lunenburg County. Responding to a shooting call shortly after 1:00 a.m., authorities discovered Nicholson's body at the scene.
