In a tragic turn of events on March 15, 2024, Anesha Isaacs, a 30-year-old woman from Maryland, was fatally shot in Annandale, Virginia. The incident, which police have described as domestic-related, unfolded in the parking lot of a medical office building on Woodburn Road where Isaacs was an employee.
On that Friday afternoon, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Isaacs placed a desperate call to 911 from her car.
She reported that her ex-boyfriend was using his vehicle to block hers, preventing her from leaving the parking lot. While still on the phone with the dispatcher, the situation escalated dramatically as her ex-boyfriend shot her multiple times.
Police arrived at the scene within minutes to find Isaacs suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The suspect fled the scene before law enforcement's arrival.
Authorities quickly identified the suspect as 30-year-old Tylen Jennings of Maryland. It was discovered that Isaacs had an active protective order against him. Utilizing license plate readers, the police were able to track Jennings's vehicle as he headed towards Maryland. The Fairfax County Police Department alerted the Prince George's County Police Department, who were then able to anticipate his route and take him into custody. A firearm was recovered from inside his vehicle at the time of the arrest.
Jennings has since been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, abduction, and violating a protective order. He is being held without bond at the Prince George's County Correctional Center as he awaits extradition to Fairfax County. Investigations into the couple's relationship and the history leading up to the protective order are ongoing. Court documents later revealed that an arrest warrant for Jennings had been issued in November 2023 for allegedly assaulting and threatening Isaacs.
