On June 27, 2023, 27-year-old Deonne Shyhme Johnson was fatally shot near Santee, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Hampshire Court, north of Santee, at the residence of 63-year-old Hercules Felder. According to reports, Johnson and a cousin visited Felder's home to discuss a financial matter. During the encounter, a dispute escalated, leading Felder to retrieve a firearm and shoot Johnson in the head.
