On August 26, 2023, Nicholas A. Donofrio, a 20-year-old student from Columbia, South Carolina, tragically lost his life. The incident occurred when Donofrio attempted to enter the wrong home on South Holly Street, mistakenly believing it was his own residence. In response, the homeowner fatally shot him.
