On a Wednesday afternoon in Columbia, South Carolina, a dispute in a parking lot tragically escalated, ending the life of 28-year-old Kevyne D'Quadre Flores. The male victim was fatally shot on September 6, 2023, following a confrontation on the 8700 block of Two Notch Road. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but Flores succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, the incident began when Flores arrived at a local business
and created a disturbance in the parking area. Three men emerged from the business and confronted Flores. During this altercation, one of the men, identified as 27-year-old Raymond Gilliam, produced a handgun and shot Flores.
Following an investigation into the fatal shooting, authorities arrested three suspects. Raymond Gilliam was charged with murder for his role as the gunman. The other two men involved in the confrontation, 19-year-old Trayvon Ellerbe and 20-year-old Suni Ray, were both charged with second-degree assault by mob. All three suspects were subsequently booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center to await legal proceedings.
