In the early morning hours of April 17, 2016, a trip to Savannah, Georgia, for the annual Orange Crush festival turned tragic for 25-year-old Brandon Champion of Atlanta. Champion, a male, was discovered with gunshot wounds on the shoulder of the Truman Parkway near Montgomery Cross Road. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries, leaving a family to grapple with unanswered questions and a community to mourn a life cut short.
