On November 21, 2023, 44-year-old David Franklin Shrewsbury was fatally shot at a residence on Mt. Olive Road in Cowpens, South Carolina. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m., when Shrewsbury was shot multiple times with a shotgun. He was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.
