On November 25, 2023, Marlene "Grace" Ables, a 24-year-old woman from Laurens, South Carolina, tragically lost her life to a gunshot wound at a residence on Highway 14 near the Barksdale community. At the time of her death, she was approximately six to seven months pregnant with her daughter, whom she intended to name Skarlett.
