In the late evening hours of February 1, 2024, the life of 19-year-old Darius Hooks was tragically cut short. Residing in Goose Creek, South Carolina, the young Black man was at a home in the Delta Oaks Mobile Home Park on Appian Way in North Charleston when violence erupted. Around 10:42 p.m., deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and officers with the North Charleston Police Department were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting.
