On March 23, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Mauldin, South Carolina, resulting in the deaths of two women. Mariellen Bessent Minor, 41, of Greenville, and her friend Kim Melissa Thrift, 52, were found dead in the parking lot of a Mauldin apartment complex. Both victims had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
