On June 25, 2024, 21-year-old Dominick Mays from Walterboro, South Carolina, was fatally shot on Sightline Drive near Palmetto Commerce Parkway in North Charleston. Responding officers from the North Charleston Police Department found Mays deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound.
