On January 22, 2023, 23-year-old Ricky Webster Jr. was fatally shot on Highway 12 West in Sallis, Mississippi. Initially reported as a single-vehicle accident around 10:56 p.m., first responders, including the Attala County Sheriff's Office, Attala County Fire Department, Sallis Volunteers, EMS, and Mississippi Highway Patrol, arrived to find Webster deceased from gunshot wounds.
