In the late hours of a Monday evening in Utica, Mississippi, a family tragedy unfolded, leading to the death of 37-year-old Blake Allen Grisham. On November 6, 2023, deputies from the Hinds County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at approximately 11:25 p.m. from a residence located at 1960 Boyd Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Grisham deceased from a gunshot wound.

It is believed that an altercation ensued between Grisham and his sister's alleged boyfriend, 42-year-old James Hudspeth.
