On February 5, 2024, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Panola County Sheriff's Department received reports of gunshots and a person lying in the roadway on West Pearl Street in Sardis, Mississippi. Deputies responded promptly, with Lieutenant Charles Cranford arriving first on the scene.
