In the summer of 2024, the life of Kevin Christopher Cross Jr., a 30-year-old Black man from Carthage, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Friday, July 19th, an officer in Carthage was flagged down on Martin Luther King Dr. and discovered that a shooting had occurred. The victim was identified as Kevin Christopher Cross Jr. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
