On a Sunday morning in August, the quiet of Merigold, Mississippi, was broken by a grim discovery. The body of 42-year-old Tyrone Wilson Jr. of Shaw was found on a gravel road on August 18, 2024. An investigation launched by the Bolivar County Sheriff's Office soon revealed that Wilson had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
As authorities delved into the case, their investigation led them to identify three individuals believed to be connected to Wilson's death.
The first suspect, 37-year-old Yvette Polk of Cleveland, Mississippi, was taken into custody and charged with capital murder. She was subsequently held at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility to await her initial court appearance.
The search for others involved continued, and on September 20, 2024, the investigation led to a second arrest. Timothy Morris, 44, was apprehended in Cleveland and also detained at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
While two suspects were in custody, the Bolivar County Sheriff's Office continued to seek a third individual, Davien Parris, in connection with the murder. Authorities have asked for the public's assistance in locating him. Funeral services for Tyrone Wilson Jr. were held on September 7, 2024, at Mt. Arria MB Church in Indianola, with his burial following at Springhill Cemetery in his hometown of Shaw.
