On August 18, 2024, Tyrone Wilson Jr., a 42-year-old resident of Shaw, Mississippi, was found deceased on a gravel road in Merigold, Mississippi. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The Bolivar County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into Wilson's death, leading to the arrest of 37-year-old Yvette Polk from Cleveland, Mississippi.
