She was described by those who knew her as a sweet, lovable individual who attracted lasting friendships and was dedicated to her family.
The events that led to her death unfolded around midnight as a chaotic altercation erupted outside the restaurant. A group of individuals gathered in the area became involved in a heated dispute that quickly escalated into a violent exchange of gunfire. As the shoot-out commenced on the street, bullets flew indiscriminately, with one stray round piercing through the window of the restaurant where Johnson was working. She was struck in the head by the gunfire while simply performing her job duties inside the establishment, falling victim to the violence as an innocent bystander.
