On July 3, 2024, 49-year-old Dante Carey was fatally shot during an altercation at a residence in the 30100 block of Jamestown Street in Romulus, Michigan. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m., when an argument between Carey and 24-year-old Christopher Demetrious Peterson escalated, leading to Peterson discharging his firearm multiple times.
