On July 2, 2023, 34-year-old Ashley Dove Brown, a White female, was found deceased in her home on Bethel Church Road. She was not alone; alongside her was her 45-year-old boyfriend, Christopher Blaine Thomas. Both had been fatally shot in what was quickly determined to be a double homicide.
The initial discovery was made by a concerned relative who had gone to the residence and found the two individuals unconscious.
The Cecil County Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation into the deaths. Their efforts soon led them to identify two suspects: Jordan Patrick Perry and Richard Lee Stone. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Aberdeen Police Department and the Harford County Sheriff's Office. A significant breakthrough came with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Aberdeen, Maryland, where Perry was apprehended without incident. The case against Perry and Stone was built on a foundation of witness testimony and physical evidence. A witness reported seeing both men outside the victims' home just moments before the murders were believed to have occurred. Perry was found guilty on all 33 charges against him, including two counts of first-degree murder. Stone was convicted on all 45 charges he faced, which also included two counts of first-degree murder. Following their convictions, both men were sentenced to multiple life terms in prison, ensuring they would be held accountable for the violent end they brought to the lives of Ashley Dove Brown and Christopher Thomas. Perry received a sentence of two consecutive life terms plus 95 years, while Stone was sentenced to three consecutive life terms.
