On July 2, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies from the Cecil County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in the 100 block of Bethel Church Road in North East, Maryland, following a report from a concerned relative who discovered two individuals unconscious. Upon arrival, authorities found 34-year-old Ashley Dove Brown and 45-year-old Christopher Blaine Thomas, both residents of the home and involved in a romantic relationship, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
