In the quiet of a late summer evening in Baltimore, a burst of violence on September 1, 2018, set in motion a tragedy that would take five years to reach its somber conclusion. On that night, in the unit block of North Catherine Street, Howard Dorsey, a 65-year-old man, was critically injured in a shooting that also wounded another, younger man. While the second victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, Dorsey’s were severe, beginning a long and arduous battle for his life.
