In the quiet community of Lexington Park, Maryland, the life of 25-year-old Alasia Janell Milburn was tragically cut short on the morning of October 16, 2024. Deputies from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office responded to a distressing call for a domestic assault at a residence on Rosewood Drive around 10:54 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Milburn suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported her to MedStar St.
Mary's Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. A seven-month-old infant was also present at the scene and was taken from the residence for precautionary measures.
Witnesses at the scene informed deputies that a male suspect had fled in a red Hyundai Kona. Law enforcement quickly located the vehicle traveling at high speeds and initiated a pursuit that spanned across St. Mary's and Charles Counties. The chase involved deputies from the Charles and Calvert County Sheriff's Offices, as well as the Maryland State Police. The dramatic pursuit concluded near Hughesville when a Calvert County deputy's vehicle made contact with the suspect's car, rendering it inoperable.
The suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Kenneth Louis Price of Washington, D.C., briefly exited his vehicle before re-entering and firing a single shot. When law enforcement officers reached the car, they found Price with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby trauma center where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 12:53 p.m. The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division has taken charge of the investigation into Milburn's death. Alasia Janell Milburn was a mother of two young children.
