Beth Marie Parker, a 37-year-old White/Caucasian female from New Auburn, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, June 18, 2023. On that early evening, the Barron County Sheriff's Department received a report of gunfire and responded to a residence just north of the village. Upon arrival, deputies found Beth Parker inside her home with a gunshot wound. She was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
Also found at the scene was 38-year-old Jeremy Wittrock, who was deceased from what authorities believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation into the deaths of Parker and Wittrock led authorities to believe it was a murder-suicide. Further details revealed that at the time of the incident, Wittrock had a pending domestic abuse charge and was under a court order to have no contact with Parker.
A 15-year-old was present at the residence at the time of the shooting but was not physically harmed. The Barron County Sheriff's Department, with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Team, conducted the investigation. Authorities stated that it was an isolated incident and there was no further danger to the public. The primary suspect in Beth Parker's death was considered to be deceased, and the case has been marked as solved.
