On May 10, 2024, Daniel J. Asmussen, a 66-year-old man from Madison, Wisconsin, was shot and killed in Necedah. The incident occurred during a confrontation at his residence, leading to his death from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived at the scene but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
