On July 12, 2001, 35-year-old Sonnyrey Armendariz Munoz was found murdered at the Lafayette Motel in Tallahassee, Florida. His body was discovered by a cleaning staff member inside one of the rooms. Munoz had been in contact with friends the evening prior to his death and had recently been released from the Leon County Detention Center.
