Do you know who killed Sonnyrey Armendariz Munoz in 2001? On July 12, 2001, 35-year-old Sonnyrey Armendariz Munoz was found murdered at the Lafayette Motel in Tallahassee, Florida. His body was discovered by a cleaning staff member inside one of the rooms. Munoz had been in contact with friends the evening prior to his death and had recently been released from the Leon County Detention Center. Despite an investigation and a canvas of the area, limited information was available about his murder, and no reports of illegal activity around the motel
during that time surfaced.
Munoz’s homicide remains unsolved, and law enforcement continues to encourage anyone with information about the case to come forward. His death is part of the unsolved homicide cases being investigated by the Tallahassee Police Department's Cold Case Unit.
