On August 31, 2004, Susan Perkins was tragically killed in Altamonte Springs, Florida, during a robbery and abduction. Perkins had gone to assist a friend at a day spa when an armed man entered the building, forced her and her friend into the trunk of her car, and drove away. While attempting to escape from the moving vehicle, Susan fell, hit her head on the pavement, and died from her injuries the following day.
