In the afternoon hours of January 18, 2024, a violent encounter in a Tulsa, Oklahoma, parking lot claimed the life of 27-year-old Clifford 'Tre' Pizana. The events leading up to the fatal shooting were chaotic, reportedly stemming from an unrelated carjacking that Pizana and two other men were involved in just moments before the shooting. Following the carjacking, the three men were walking away when they were confronted by an armed individual.
An argument broke out, and the situation
quickly escalated. Police reports indicate that Pizana was in possession of a handgun and was brandishing it during the confrontation. The other individual, identified as 18-year-old Lekysha Davis, was armed with a semi-automatic pistol. Davis opened fire, striking Pizana multiple times. Even after Pizana fell to the ground, Davis reportedly continued to shoot him. Davis also fired at the two other men who were with Pizana as they fled the scene.
The motive for the shooting was believed to be a feud between rival gangs. Witnesses, the two men who fled, later identified Davis from a photo lineup. They informed police that they believed Davis shot at them because they were members of the Hoover Crips and she was a member of the Bloods.
Following an investigation, Tulsa Police identified Lekysha Davis as the suspect and issued a warrant for her arrest on a charge of first-degree murder. She was considered armed and dangerous. Davis was apprehended by police on January 31, 2024, near the scene of the crime.
Initially charged with murder, Davis later pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of manslaughter. She also pleaded no contest to two counts of shooting with intent to kill. In March 2025, a judge sentenced Davis to 20 years in prison for the death of Clifford Pizana. Her sentences for all charges are to be served concurrently.
