In the early morning hours of February 2, 2023, the life of Lawrence Brown, a 33-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in a residential neighborhood near Graham, Washington. Just before 9 a.m., a distressing 911 call was made by Brown's girlfriend, reporting that he had been shot and the assailants had fled the scene. Deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the home located in the 24500 block of 62nd Avenue Court East.
Upon
arrival, law enforcement found Lawrence Brown in a shed in the backyard, a space he had been living in. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical personnel from the fire department attempted to render aid, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office later officially ruled his death a homicide.
