On the evening of November 6, 2023, the small coastal community of Moclips, Washington, was disturbed by an act of violence that resulted in the death of 42-year-old Steve McMahon. A male resident of the town, McMahon was fatally shot during an incident that authorities would later describe as an armed robbery. The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office was alerted to the shooting and immediately launched an investigation into the homicide.
