On January 3, 2024, 31-year-old rideshare driver Abdulkadir Shariff Gedi was fatally shot while driving in Edmonds, Washington. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of 236th Street Southwest and Edmonds Way. Gedi had just dropped off passengers when he encountered a pedestrian crossing the street.
