On August 9, 2024, a tragic incident occurred near Concrete, Washington, resulting in the deaths of three individuals: Erin Birman, 52; her son, Taylor Dawson, 19; and Dawson's girlfriend, Jillian Whitney Van Boven, 18. Initially reported as a deadly fire, investigators later determined that the victims had been shot before the fire consumed their two-story home along State Route 530, south of Rockport.
