On January 8, 2023, 42-year-old Brian Mark Wilson, owner of Stay Gold Tattoo Studio in Amelia, Ohio, was fatally shot following a dispute over money. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of State Routes 125 and 132 in Pierce Township. Clermont County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call with an open line, during which dispatchers overheard an argument about money and subsequent gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers found Wilson unresponsive in the westbound lanes of State Route 125; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the scene, authorities detained 33-year-old Michael Patrick Guilfoyle Jr. He confessed to shooting Wilson, stating that the altercation stemmed from a monetary dispute. Guilfoyle was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, both first-degree felonies. He was held in the Clermont County Jail without bond, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 19, 2023.
Brian Wilson was born on November 24, 1980, to Judy (née Gladwell) and the late Mark Wilson. He was a devoted husband to Jennifer Wilson (née Davis) and a loving father to Aliya Boisseau, Hailey Sicurella, Joseph Sicurella, James Sicurella, and Ryker Wilson. Wilson was a proud Special Forces Marine who served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He was also a gifted pinstripe and tattoo artist, known for his love of classic cars and hot rods. Embracing Native American culture, he was adopted into The Northern Cheyenne and Arapahoe Nation during a Changing Ceremony by Morgan Moore.
The community mourned Wilson's untimely death, remembering him as a talented artist and dedicated family man.
