On June 3, 2023, at approximately 8:10 p.m., 19-year-old Bemetrius Hargrove was fatally shot in Cleveland's St. Clair-Superior neighborhood. According to police reports, Hargrove was standing in front of a residence on the 5700 block of Dibble Avenue with two acquaintances when a white vehicle with tinted windows approached. Two masked men exited the car and opened fire, striking Hargrove in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the incident, a 29-year-old man, who was walking down the sidewalk and not involved with Hargrove, was also shot in the side. He was transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in serious condition. The severity of his injuries was not specified.
As of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with Hargrove's death. The Cleveland Division of Police continues to investigate the case.
