On June 16, 2023, 33-year-old Anika Lea Coleman was fatally shot in the backyard of a residence on Ridgewood Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio. Witnesses reported that Coleman had been involved in a verbal altercation with individuals at the home prior to the shooting. Upon arrival, police found Coleman with a gunshot wound to the chest; she was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
