On July 1, 2023, Daveonte Carlos Winnick, a 23-year-old resident of Cleveland, Ohio, was shot and killed during a violent incident at a gas station. The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the Rapid Stop gas station located on East 55th Street. Witnesses reported a large crowd and a physical altercation involving Winnick and an unidentified woman when an unknown assailant intervened and shot him in the head. Despite immediate medical assistance, Winnick was pronounced dead at the scene.
