On August 1, 2023, at approximately 5 a.m., 42-year-old Nicholas Ledbetter was fatally shot in an apartment on Meredith Drive in Springfield Township, Cincinnati, Ohio. He sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. At the time of the incident, the apartment's primary residents—a woman and her two daughters—were not present.
