On August 3, 2023, Marquise Banks, a 23-year-old resident of Green, Ohio, was fatally shot during an incident on Interstate 77. The shooting occurred when a passenger in a pickup truck fired multiple rounds at Banks' Lincoln SUV. Following the gunfire, Banks lost control of his vehicle, which veered across the median and collided with a Mercedes in the northbound lanes.
