On January 3, 2024, 19-year-old Lequan Richard Head was found fatally shot multiple times in a car near South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified him as the victim.
Following the incident, the Warrensville Heights Police Department identified 20-year-old Dante Freeman as a suspect in Head's murder. Freeman faced charges including murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, and discharging a firearm. In May 2024, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) named Freeman as their Fugitive of the Week, seeking public assistance in locating him.
On August 7, 2024, acting on a tip, NOVFTF members apprehended Freeman at a residence on Redbridge Lane in Brunswick, Ohio. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott commended the team's efforts, expressing hope that the arrest would bring some justice to the victim's family. The collaborative efforts of federal, state, and local agencies were instrumental in capturing Freeman and removing him from the community.
