On June 2, 2024, at approximately 12:35 a.m., 18-year-old Da’Mya Monique Cummerlander was fatally shot while attending a graduation party in the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road in northeast Columbus, Ohio. Responding officers found her suffering from a gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 12:45 a.m.
Following the incident, authorities arrested 20-year-old Kenneth Hairston in connection with Cummerlander's death. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter
