Rashaad Quinn, a 19-year-old man from Toledo, Ohio, was fatally shot on August 1, 2024. The incident occurred inside the Vistula II Heritage Apartments, located in the 600 block of Locust Street in north Toledo. After the shooting, Quinn was rushed to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, Quinn succumbed to his injuries on August 6, 2024, at the age of 20. The Toledo Police Department is now investigating his death as a homicide.
The shooting took place at the apartment complex situated at the corner of Erie and Locust Streets.
As of August 7, 2024, no suspects had been named in connection with the incident. The police have not released any information regarding potential arrests or identified suspects. Authorities are actively seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation of this homicide case.
It's worth noting that this was not Quinn's first encounter with gun violence. In a previous incident on October 31, 2022, when he was a teenager, Quinn was shot near Tom's Carry Out in the 2800 block of Lagrange Street. In that case, he was able to walk to a nearby residence for help.
Quinn is remembered as a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. His untimely death has added to the ongoing concerns about gun violence in the Toledo area.
