On August 11, 2024, Dawn C. Werling (Stohl), aged 53, was found deceased alongside her husband, Erik L. Werling, aged 52, in the backyard of their home in Republic, Ohio. Both individuals suffered from apparent gunshot wounds. The discovery of their bodies prompted an immediate investigation by the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, which has classified the case as a questionable death investigation due to the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
