On May 27, 2023, during the Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally in Red River, New Mexico, a violent confrontation erupted between members of the Bandidos and Water Dogs motorcycle gangs. The altercation occurred around 5:00 p.m. on East Main Street, resulting in gunfire that left three individuals dead and five others injured. Among the deceased was 26-year-old Anthony Silva from Los Lunas, New Mexico, identified as a member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Gang.
