On December 4, 2023, at approximately 12:05 a.m., 34-year-old Darius Renee Wilson of Burnsville, Minnesota, was fatally shot near the intersection of East Lake Street and 12th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Responding officers found Wilson deceased at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. A woman in her 40s also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
